Help Me Find a Man

Do you Understand Him?

Hi ladies, are you currently dating a man, and you get the feeling he is afraid of any commitment? Some men are easy-going and could comfortably settling down with a woman they like, and for others it can make them run a mile! Why is it that he is feeling this way? Here are some of the reasons that account for why men may feel uneasy to commit in a relationship.

The Details:

There's a third party. Hopefully this is not the case, but it cannot be ruled out that he may have a third party on his mind, leaving him confused about the type of future he wants for both of you. It may also be the case that he has not gotten over his ex partner making it hard to commit to you.

He's distracted by other priorities. He needs to strive a balance out everything- work, family, and friends.  If he perceives that he needs to accord priority in other areas of his life that require more time, then it is natural that will come first and he will think of you second.

He is waiting for his close friends to commit first. Most men will ultimately want to commit, but he may want his friends to take the first step out, as he does not want to feel as if he misses out on anything with his single friends.

He's feeling pressured by you.  You're in his ear about it all the time and it's really getting to him. If he wants to commit to you, then allow him to get to that stage on his own. If you constantly bring it up, he may become upset with you and push him further away.

Loss of free time. He likes time to himself and to do his own thing. Serious relationships take up an  enormous amount of  time and energy and he doesn't want that kind of pressure.

You Don't Respect Him For Who He Is Right Now. If you don't respect and love him for who he is right now, then what will things be like in a few years from now? In a decade? He has his own dreams and aspirations about what the future holds and if you don't seem like you are supportive of those, then it can raise an alarm bell that might be causing him not to want to commit further to you.

He needs time to nurture his history. When you understand his past relationships and childhood history, then you may know why he is not ready to commit to you. He could be swearing off new relationships because he needs time to heal the pain that was caused by a previous breakup. You may need to give him a little extra time until he feels comfortable in his new relationship with you.

He hasn't matured yet. Women  can take a little shorter time to grow up than men. It takes a certain amount of maturity to get to the point of commitment, and he may not be ready yet. An immature man is not comfortable to consider the wants and needs of others above his own.

The Implication:

Sometime it can be difficult to read men, and hard to know what it is they really want. They prefer to let the relationship just fall into place naturally. If you think you and your boyfriend are really to move in together, or talk about marriage, then find a time to discuss with him gently, discover what it is he wants and where you stand in your relationship. Make sure you don't talk at him and ensure the conversation is light and friendly, and you may be happy at how he opens up to you!
